There's another cap in this for you.
You just bought a cap. Cheers for that — genuinely.
Here's the deal. Film about twenty seconds of you with it on your phone. Send it to us. We'll post you a trucker cap, free. Your pick of the Digger, the Crux or the Shadow, whatever colour we've got on the shelf.
No catch. Nothing to buy, nothing to sign up to.
Haven't got one yet? Pick a cap first — the offer's open to anyone who's bought one.

Why we're bothering
We're a small, veteran-owned business in Melbourne. We can't outspend the big brands on ads and we're not going to try. What we can do is show real Australians wearing the thing, in the places they actually wear it.
That's worth more to us than any studio shoot. So it's worth a cap to you.
What to film
Three shots. Under a minute all up.
Bring a mate into it if you want — that's usually the better video.
Say something if you feel like it. Doesn't need to be scripted and it doesn't need to be flattering. "Just got this, reckon it's the best cap I own" is plenty. If you'd rather not talk, don't. The footage is the bit we need.
What one actually looks like
Two blokes who've already done it. Neither is a filmmaker. That's the bar.
Alex Jon — wearing the Pioneer.
Adrian — "have a look at the difference in these."
Not keen on being filmed?
Fair enough. Plenty of people aren't.
We're also after photos — real Australians wearing these caps outdoors, in the places you'd actually wear one. At the ute, on the boat ramp, at the footy, cap on, looking off at something. Nothing posed, nothing studio.
If we use your photos on a product page or in an ad, we'll post you a free trucker — same as the video.
One difference, and we'll be straight about it
With a video, if we can see the cap, you get a cap. With photos it's if we use them — these sit on product pages next to professional shots, so the bar's higher. Either way we'll tell you where you stand.
What makes a photo usable
- Outdoors, in daylight. No flash.
- Cap clearly on your head and in focus. Don't crop the peak off.
- Three or four good ones beats a camera roll of thirty.
- Full size, straight off the phone — not a screenshot, and not downloaded back off Instagram.
- A mix of upright and landscape if you can manage it. We need both shapes.
What you get
Digger
The flag
Crux
The Southern Cross
Shadow
The multicam flag
Black, Walnut, Navy or Jungle. Whatever we've got on the shelf.
Four rules
- Shot on a phone, held upright
- Keep a shirt on
- Nothing political
- Don't say "Australian made" — our blanks come from Asia and we decorate them here in Victoria. Here's the honest full answer.

Questions
Do I have to be any good on camera?
No. That's rather the point. We're after real, not polished — a bloke in a shed beats a studio shoot every time.
Do I have to talk?
No. Plenty of the best footage has no talking in it. Say something if it feels natural, leave it if it doesn't.
Can I send photos instead of a video?
Yes. We use photos on product pages and in ads. The rules differ slightly: a video gets you a cap as long as we can see the cap in it, photos get you a cap if we actually use them. Both are worth doing.
Can my mates be in it?
Yes, and it's usually better when they are. Just make sure anyone in shot is happy for it to be used — same permission applies to them.
Which cap do I get?
Any of the three truckers — Digger, Crux or Shadow — in whatever colour we've got on the shelf. The free cap comes from the trucker range, so it's not the Pioneer or the Quiet Patriot. Those are the $69 baseball caps and we've got to draw the line somewhere.
What if my video isn't good enough?
We'll tell you straight and you can have another crack. The only ones that don't work are the ones where we can't see the cap — too dark, too shaky, or it never really makes it on screen.
Who owns the video?
You do. You're giving us permission to use it, not handing it over. We won't sell it on to anyone else, and if you change your mind later, email us and we'll pull it down.
Do I need Instagram?
No. The upload form does the same job and doesn't need an account.
Can I do it more than once?
One free cap per customer. But if you keep making stuff we can use, we'll be in touch — that's how this ends up being a longer conversation.
Is there a catch?
No. Nothing to buy, no subscription, no card details. We send the cap once we've got a video we can use.
The fine print, in plain English
By sending us your video or photos you're giving Patriot Caps permission to use them — in ads, on our website, on social, in emails — now and in the future, without further payment. We won't sell it on to anyone else, and we'll never put your face next to anything political. Change your mind later? Email [email protected] and we'll pull it down.
One free cap per customer. Australian delivery addresses only. We send your cap once we've received a video we can use, or photos we've used.
