Australia's textile industry has collapsed. 97% of clothing and textiles sold here are made offshore, and manufacturing jobs in the sector have dropped about 75% since the late 1980s. Even the handful of local cap makers left almost certainly rely on imported fabric too, because there's barely a domestic textile industry left to source raw materials from.

And it's not just small brands like ours. The Australian Olympic uniform, worn by our own athletes representing the country on the world stage, was designed here and openly manufactured in China. Cricket Australia's kit is made by ASICS, a Japanese company with no manufacturing base in Australia at all. Even RM Williams, about as authentically Australian as a brand gets, makes some of its products in China and Southeast Asia.

If national teams and heritage brands can't manufacture structured garments locally at scale, a small veteran-owned cap brand genuinely can't either.

I understand you're frustrated & we are too. We'd love nothing more than to manufacture genuinely Australian-made caps right here. But the cost of manufacturing in Australia today is so high it's simply not viable at a price anyone would actually pay. Structured cap sewing is also a specialised skill most factories here no longer have. A genuinely Australian-made cap would need to retail well above $150-200 just to cover the real cost, and that prices out almost everyone.

All Patriot Caps are one-size-fits-most with an adjustable plastic snapback closure. The cap fits head circumferences from approximately 54cm to 62cm. To check your size, measure around your head with a tape measure about 1–2cm above your ears. The snapback can be easily adjusted to dial in your perfect fit.

We have two cap styles. Our embroidered structured caps are made from 100% mid-weight cotton with a firm front panel and curved peak — premium quality built to hold its shape for years. Our trucker caps feature a 100% polyester foam front and peak with a breathable 100% recycled polyester mesh back for all-day ventilation. Both styles use a quality adjustable snapback for all-day comfort.

Hand wash only in cold water with a mild detergent. Do not machine wash, tumble dry, or iron directly on the embroidery or heat pressed design. Reshape while damp and air dry naturally. Do not bleach or dry clean.

If your cap has a manufacturing defect — stitching comes loose, the embroidery unravels, the snapback mechanism breaks — we will repair or replace it free of charge.
