Supporting Australian Veterans – One Cap at a Time
I’m Michael, an Australian Army Afghanistan veteran and founder of Patriot Caps.
After serving our country in Afghanistan, I returned home with a deep understanding of the strength, mateship, and resilience that define our diggers — and the very real challenges many veterans face when they transition back to civilian life. Far too many Australian veterans are still falling through the cracks, not receiving the practical, life-changing support they need from DVA.
That’s why this store exists for more than just selling premium patriotic Australian caps and hats. We donate 5% of our profits from every single cap sold directly to Swiss 8 — a veteran-led charity founded by fellow Afghanistan war veterans.
Swiss 8 was created by men who have walked the same path I have. They provide free, practical mental health tools, workshops, wellbeing coaching, and identity-rebuilding programs that help veterans find new purpose and reconnect with their tribe. To date, they have supported over 2,000 Australian veterans, and they are now building NinGula Homestead — a purpose-built retreat in Monkerai, NSW, where veterans can heal, reset, and thrive in a true mateship environment.
